Nepal Visa Information.

Traveling to Nepal is easy for most visitors, with options for Visa on Arrival or prior visa application. Below is all the essential information you need for your trip.

Visa on Arrival.

Most travelers can obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) or at authorised land border points. For faster processing, complete the online application within 15 days before arrival, or fill out the visa form at airport kiosks upon arrival.

Required Documents.

To obtain a Nepal Tourist Visa, you will need:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity and 1 blank page

  • A recent passport-size photograph

  • Visa fee in cash (USD preferred; cards may not be accepted)

Visa Fees & Duration.

  • 15 days: USD $30

  • 30 days: USD $50

  • 90 days: USD $125

Note: Visa fees are subject to change. Always check the official Nepal Department of Immigration website before travel.

Visa Extensions.

Tourist visas can be extended at immigration offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

  • Minimum extension: 15 days (USD $45)

  • Maximum stay: 150 days per calendar year

Gratis Visa & Important Notes.

  • Free visa for children under 10 (except U.S.), SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan), Chinese nationals, and Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) cardholders

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months

  • Always renew or extend your visa on time to avoid fines, detention, or deportation
