Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. After assistance with your luggage, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey or explore the nearby areas of Kathmandu. In the evening, you may enjoy a short briefing about the trek and prepare for the adventure ahead. Today is reserved for sightseeing in Kathmandu and final preparation for the trek. You will visit some of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, offering insight into Nepal’s rich history, culture, and spirituality. In the afternoon, there will be a detailed trek briefing, equipment check, and time for any last-minute shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
After an early breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar via Jiri. The scenic journey takes you through winding mountain roads, rural settlements, terraced farmland, and beautiful river valleys. Jiri, known as the gateway to the classic Everest trekking route, offers a glimpse into traditional hill life. Continuing onward to Bhandar, you will experience changing landscapes and local culture. After breakfast, begin your trek from Bhandar to Sete. The trail involves a mix of steep ascents and descents, passing through terraced fields, dense forests, and traditional villages. Today’s trek takes you from Sete to Junbesi, crossing the Lamjura Pass, one of the highest points on the Jiri–Everest route. The trail climbs steadily through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests to the Lamjura Pass (3,530 m), offering peaceful surroundings and occasional mountain views. From the pass, descend through forested paths to the scenic Sherpa village of Junbesi. This culturally rich village is known for its traditional lifestyle and nearby monasteries. After breakfast, continue your trek from Junbesi to Nunthala. The trail descends through lush forests, terraced farmland, and small Sherpa and Rai villages, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You will cross several streams and enjoy a quieter, less-traveled section of the route. After approximately six hours of trekking, arrive at the village of Nunthala. Today’s trek takes you from Nunthala to Bupsa, following a scenic trail through forests, farmland, and traditional villages. The route includes gradual ascents and descents, with occasional views of distant hills and mountain landscapes. As you walk, you will experience local rural life and warm hospitality along the way. After 5–6 hours of trekking, reach the village of Bupsa. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Bupsa.
After breakfast, begin your trek from Bupsa to Surke. The trail passes through forested paths, small settlements, and river valleys, with a mix of gentle climbs and descents. As you approach Surke, you will notice the landscape becoming more alpine as you enter the lower Khumbu region. Today’s trek leads from Surke to Phakding, officially entering the main Everest Base Camp trekking route.
